Introduction

In 2021, the Housing and Urban-Rural Development Department of Shandong Province issued a guide for a smart supervision platform to fully implement the three-star (AAA) level construction site, and the evaluation criteria clearly put forward the intelligent analysis system into the scope of smart construction. This platform is developed under the guidance of the policy.

Challenges

High Accident Probability

Construction sites are mobile in terms of people, machines and materials, with a large number of temporary facilities, and many high-risk operations, thus safety accidents are easily triggered.

Difficulty in Safety Management

Influenced by varied quality and weak self-protection awareness, the workers' violations are frequent and hard to control using the supervision system without pre-warnings.

Solutions

Corerain have made a significant contribution in the developing of the Construction Site Management Platform in Northern China, deploying 1 Nebula X6A Edge Station per site, accessing 500 camera video streams for analysis through algorithms such as open smoke and fire, personnel intrusion, and personnel fall recognition, and building a rapid response mechanism for hazards, to strengthen the efficiency of site safety management.

Results

An intelligent video analysis system is built to achieve on-site safety hazard detection, personnel dynamic management, operational protection, and improve the speed of emergency response and disposal of events.

Passive supervision is changed into active supervision, forming a management mode of “pre-warning before the event -interference in the event-standardization after the event”, effectively makeing up for the defects of traditional methods and technologies in supervision.
